CD: came
about like everything else in life. It was just the semi planned result of a chain of life
events, and a continuous conversation
in my mind that
would come up every now and then between Ron, Ben, and
myself. After a year or so of bringing it up, we finally
found one day that we were all in town at the same time,
and not
on another gig.
Once
the universal
wheel started to spin, I surprisingly
ran into Hutch one night in the village while hanging
out. When he asked what I was up to, I mentioned our
plan. He immediately jumped on the "Band
Wagon" without hesitation". He said that
he’d be in New York that weekend anyway and would love
to do it with us. Our little magical
trio became a mystical
quartet!
THE
EVENTS:
During a regular gig, Ron, Ben, and I were having so much fun we felt like saving some for a rainy day. We also wanted to share
our joy with many more people
than could fit in that small lounge at the Washington
Square Hotel.
I even started reciting some of my poetry
on the gigs just because I felt free
to be. It was a, "come
as you are", "if
it feels good, do it", creative,
improv friendly
environment".
At that time my brain didn't tell me it would
be impossible to recreate all that on a CD.
Each moment we shared was already gone, and could never be recaptured.
If we recorded, we’d have to create something
new. So what
we did is gave
what we had to give on that day, at that time, in
that space,
with where ever our heads, minds and souls
were at that moment between 3 & 10 P.M. on March 18, 2001 in Saul Rubin's home grown dusty pro tools studio.
After 7 hours, and way to many between take jokes, and wise cracks form the guys, this is what we got. It ain't
live, and we didn't use Memorex either, but we hope you like it enough to join the “bandwagon” too. We hope to see
you in the audience many times helping us to create
more real magic. You and the music
make the magic.
And magic can’t be put in a box.
I guess that’s why the stage is my comfort
zone. Especially
when the joint is full of good
cheer. With that said, let me give....
POETRY
GAME:

know what you came up with! Come on, it’ll be fun!
